reason why I’m here. (English ver..)

The answer for Yuki’s comment before.

I was asked such question several times , by friends or  interviewed for JOCV.

I’ve thought a lot. But now I dare to write here to make it sure.

There are two kinds of reason. One is the direct reason and the other is the indirect reason.

First , the direct reasons.

To say simply , it was only a good timing to me.

I had to quit the hospital where I had worked in Japan in August 2009.

I was thinking about next work in August 2008. One of my friend N , she is so cute and beautiful PT, told me to have pass examination of JOCV.

I knew she had tried but I wasn’t interested in that and didn’t know about JOCV.

She told me that next examination would come  soon.

I thought it was good timing for me. If I pass the examination of 21-3 ,I would quit the hospital in Aug 2009 and have 1 and half month vacation and start training in Oct and after that go abroad in Jan 2010.

Once I thought like that I felt everything good.

Government would give money to live abroad and let  me learn the language and give money  after coming back  to Japan.

I thought like that and put on the entry paper. Fortunately I could pass.

Some friends had wanted to join JOCV from school. To join JOCV was 30 years dream for one SV.

It was not like that for me. JOCV came up to me on good timing as next job.

Next , the indirect reasons.

My mother sometimes took foreigners to my house.

And a friend of my mother had been in Philippine for long time. She sometimes came to my house and told me about there.

These experience made me be familiar to foreign people and country.

I remembered when I took the examination that I had chance to choose the course when I became 2nd grade of my high school.

I wanted to choose  the international course. It seemed that I wanted to work abroad then. But the class teacher told me that English was need to work abroad but it was just a tool , I had to lean skills something to tell people in foreign countries.

I was good at math then so I choose science and mathematics course.

I have forgotten it for long time . I remembered that I wanted to go abroad when I was young.

Visiting Philippine when I was 19 and 23 gave me big impact. They were good memories.

Almost of all were different from Japan but they were alright.

I liked like that society and felt comfortable it.

I caught the chance of JOCV because of such my base.

And another comment of Yuki. Do what I want to do. It is most difficult for me. If I had what I want to do, I did already.

If I let me be, I would stay in my world soon. I fought against it and always lost.

I know what to do. It always stop me to try it. It is “mendokusai”; kind of rude or looseness of mind.

  3. JOCV=Japan Overseas Cooperative Volunteersだったと思う。和約は青年海外協力隊。
    SV=Senior Volunteer シニアボランティア=40-69歳までのヴォランティア
    この英訳はまずはヘレンに添削してもらってらの方がいいと思うよ。
    かなりいい加減に書いたから。
    日本語の思考をそのまま英訳しただけだから不自然なとこと、正しくない文法いっぱいと思う。
    ただし、複雑な構文も単語も使ってないのでゆっくり読めば理解しやすいとは思う。
    ほぼ直訳なのと、日本語の語尾や語順で表現してる微妙なニュアンスは全く訳せてないからね。
